I can't believe the amount of epic complaining about something people have been able to do for 4 and a half years with no problems. Most of the complaints on guru in the past few days haven't even been about Dhumm, but about people failing everything else. People whinning about quests that have already been in the game for instance.

Get better. Stop asking for things to be handed to you.

Dhumm is NOT that ridiculous. Anybody claiming he is some sorta super boss... get better.

The recent changes aren't enough to justify changing a mechanic that has been in place for 4 and half years. We have dealt with it fine before now.

UW and FoW are ment to be elite areas. If you could rez, it would be UW/FoW too easy.

Honestly it is just a bandaid for a broken area of the game, but something needs to be done imo. I would rather see some way to save quest progression in FoW/UW because as it is, it is completely true that most people cannot do these areas without devoting several hours they might not have to trying to attempt it only for some frustrating wipe partway into it, unless they use some lame cheesy gimmick builds to run it like everyone has always done for as long as these areas have existed.

Frankly at this point it doesn't matter if ressurection shrines would "help" the farmers; they are not the problem, the area is just busted as well as certain skills so that they are able to do this. Honestly the number of legit balanced groups doing UW or FoW must be ridiculously low because no one has the time to get together all at once, plan out their builds, wait for favor, pay money (over and over again if they fail), and spend hours trying to clear these areas.

A game should be about fun first and foremost and I believe all of the "elite areas" need to be looked over, not just UW and FoW. Dhuum is a potential step in the right direction to revitalize UW but what of the other areas?

Regardless I would agree with these shrines being added on the condition you had to "unlock" them by doing at least some of the work first.

No. it is an elite area. if missions don't get res shrines, then elite areas sure as hell don't get res shrines.

ELITE AREAS ARE TOO ELITE FOR MEEEEEEEEEEEE WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

Elite areas are elite. They are hard. They are not for the feint of heart. They are not for people who still see death and failure as an option. They do not need res shrines. That might help the occasional balance and PuGway make it through a few more quests, but the farmers and speed clearers would profit so much more.

This idea is bad.

Then do you mind explaining why Slaver's exile has res shrines AND quest progression in each area? DoA offers quest progression but no res shrines. Both of them are elite according to Wiki. Stop the "it's an elite area!" bullshit.

/not signed. It's an elite area, and there should be harsh lumps applied for teams that fail. It's the whole risk/reward thing - the greater the risk, the greater the reward AND the greater the penalty for failure. (Many people forget about that last part)

/Signed for saving quest progression. This would make these areas more appealing to casual players who may not be able to dedicate a couple of hours to clearing either UW or FoW in one sitting. It would also improve the opportunities for people who want to tackle these areas with their favorite professions instead of making a perma-sin (may they RIP soon) just so they can take on these elite areas.

Because those areas were designed with that mechanic in mind.

UW was not.

You'd have to do a complete rework of UW as a concept (the quests, the drops, the mobs, everything) for this to be a good idea. You can't just throw res shrines in there and expect it to fix everything.
And yeah... way to be hostile to people who disagree with you. Just because we don't like your idea doesn't mean we are bad people.

No other proph mish has a rez shrine. I don't see why UW should since it was originally designed as a proph elite mission.

Like said, the true problem here are npcs.

I did not post a long rant how I can never clear UW/FoW because I keep wiping, nor did I demand to anet that UW/FoW should have res shrines. I meerly posted an idea that could help benifit balanced groups and asked for feedback. I'm going to flame people when they respond with half-assed remarks such as "ELITE AREAS ARE TOO ELITE FOR MEEEEEEEEEEEE WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH" or "short answer: HAHAHAHAHA NO
long answer: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HELL NO"

UW and FoW are pretty much elite areas, just not as hard. They're easy enough, and definitely do not need res shrines.

Quote:
So why can slavers and DoA be done in segments since they have a five-part quest and UW/FoW not?
Because that's the way they were designed. Not to mention both are much harder and take more time than UW/FoW.

It is not a mission it is an area you don't need it to beat the game.

I see these areas pretty much like the catacombs of post searing which we can't go back to but those in other camps can go back to theirs.

People could clear UW before SF and pve skills, and they can beat it post-UWSC with Dhumm as well.
